Justice for All

The Legal Assistance Fund of Crawford County

(LAF) works to address financial barriers that Latinos and other minority groups throughout the county encounter when trying to obtain legal assistance. Legal fees, language barriers, and complex applications can be overwhelming for such individuals. LAF provides a financial framework to assist minority community members on a case-by-case basis with citizenship costs, legal expenses related to deportation, and other legal issues as they arise, such as lease applications, health insurance forms, safe-housing assistance, and other, similar needs.

Applicants must, regardless of immigration status, demonstrate financial need, be of a federally recognized minority group, and live within the boundaries of Crawford County for a majority of the year. There are no minimum or maximum microgrant request amounts, but the LAF Committee reserves the right to fund requests in full or in part based on their discretion. All submitted information will remain confidential.
